We’re looking for a farm worker who will assist with our late winter and early spring production work.
The work: Work starts with logging and inoculations in the spring, then shifts into production season preparations and construction projects. Much of the work includes moving logs and operating our new pneumatic inoculator tool.
Hours: We’re looking for someone to help with farm work 32 to 40 hours per week starting at 8am, generally quitting around 5pm.
Duration: This work is a lead-in to one of our summer positions – which start in June: production team member, production lead, or mushroom picker/packer (see other posts).
Compensation: hourly work at $12 per hour. Housing is available free of charge in our farmhouse; there is a shared bathroom and kitchen in the farmhouse. All farmhands have use of kitchen equipment and a few food staples like oil and salt, and of course mushrooms!
The Team: Our pared-down winter team is just winter farm worker and farm-founder Jeremy McAdams, while – our summer team is up to a few full-time employees.
Work Location: We have a beautiful 38 acre farm at 827 15th St., Clayton, WI 54004, about an hour and a half from the Twin Cities.
Selection Criteria: Previous general farm or production experience desirable, as well as speed, attention to detail, endurance, ability to work well with others and to lift 75 lbs.
Hiring deadline: We hope to hire in early March, with the winter production worker starting in mid-March.
