Summer Mushroom Picker/Packer Wanted

We’re looking for a seasonal farm worker who will assist with both mushroom picking and packing.

The work: assist Farm-founder Jeremy McAdams with packaging and processing mushrooms, while also helping production team with mushroom picking.

Hours: We’re looking for someone to help with farm work 40 to 50 hours per week starting at 8am, generally quitting around 5pm.  Workers are generally expected to work at least one day each weekend – especially in the summer.

Duration: This position starts in late June, and extends into October, but we will also be hiring for other positions in June: production team member and production lead (see other posts).

Compensation: hourly work at $12 per hour.  Housing is available free of charge in our farmhouse or in our bunkhouse; there is a shared bathroom and kitchen in the farmhouse.  All farmhands have use of kitchen equipment and a few food staples like oil and salt, and of course mushrooms!

The Team: Summer teams are up to two or three full-time employees.

Work Location: We have a beautiful 38 acre farm at 827 15th St., Clayton, WI 54004, about an hour and a half from the Twin Cities.

Selection Criteria: Previous general farming or kitchen experience desirable, as well as speed, attention to detail, endurance, ability to work well with others.

Hiring deadline: We will be hiring in early to mid-June, while we hope the picker/packer will start in late June.
