We’re looking for a detail-oriented seasonal worker who will assist with both mushroom picking and packing.
The work: assist Farm-founder Jeremy McAdams with packaging and processing mushrooms, while also helping production team with mushroom picking.
Hours: 40 to 50 hours per week starting at 7:30am, generally quitting around 5pm. Workers are generally expected to work at least one day each weekend – especially in the summer.
Duration: This position starts in June, and extends through October, but we will also be hiring for other positions in June: production team member and production lead (see other posts).
Compensation: hourly work at $12 to $13 per hour. Housing is available free of charge in our farmhouse or in our bunkhouse; there is a shared bathroom and kitchen in the farmhouse. All farmhands have use of kitchen equipment and a few food staples like oil and salt, and of course mushrooms!
The Team: Summer teams are up to two or three full-time employees.
Work Location: We have a beautiful 38 acre farm at 827 15th St., Clayton, WI 54004, about an hour and a half from the Twin Cities.
Selection Criteria: Previous general farming or kitchen experience desirable, as well as speed, attention to detail, endurance, ability to work well with others.
Hiring deadline: We will be hiring in early to mid-June, while we hope the picker/packer will start in late June.
