Chaga mushroom (conks) typically grow on birch trees in cold climates. They are high in antioxidants and reduce inflammation. Chaga may also slow growth of cancer cells, lower blood sugar and cholesterol.*
Make a tea by adding whole chaga pieces to a quart of water. Simmer (on its own or with ginger, black tea, or spices) for at least 30 minutes, strain, and sweeten if desired. Drink as is or add to coffee or tea. You can freeze chaga chunks and re-use several times.
