Product Details

Our dried mushroom Umami blend contains shiitake, maitake (hen of the woods), and chestnut mushrooms. Dried mushrooms have the same qualities of fresh, but you can use them when you want them.

Cover the mushrooms with water until soft – at least thirty minutes before using them – and don’t discard the liquid! A one-ounce bag of dried mushrooms should plump up to about six ounces of rich and flavorful mushrooms - for use in dishes like cream soup, quiche, risotto, or savory crepe.

All our mushrooms are grown on our farm in Western Wisconsin. The shiitake were grown on logs outdoors, the maitake were foraged outdoors, and the chestnut mushrooms were grown indoors on blocks.

Our prices include a small credit card processing fee. If you live near the Twin Cities you can always stop by our booth at Mill City Farmers Market to purchase items in cash and avoid the fees.
